Naming Opportunities at the Newton Free Library

Children’s Room - $250,000

The most heavily used space in the library, dedicated to learning the love of reading and exploration of the world through literature and culture. We plan to make much needed improvements to this space overall but particularly in our engagement spaces dedicated to story times, crafts & maker programs, and drop-in activity areas, with the support of a signature donor.

Atrium Reading Room - $150,000

This room is the heart of the Newton Free Library where patrons browse our newest materials, make use of study and reading space and get assistance from staff.

Teen Space - $50,000

We are pleased to announce that this opportunity was recently taken.

Teen service is the fastest growing activity area at the Newton Free Library in terms of both programming and collection use. We plan to a larger and much more distinctive Teen Space that relates to the Children’s Room in a Youth Services department.

Maker Space - $50,000

We are pleased to announce that this opportunity was recently taken.

A Maker space in a public library presents new and traditional creative technologies in a hands- on workshop or drop-in setting. The technologies range from 3D-Printing and computer modeling to more traditional creative technologies.

Collection & Activity Centers - $35,000

The Collection Centers we are developing encompass new ways of presenting our most significant collection areas focused on particular patron interests and needs.

Language & Literacy Center – with our substantial non-English language and ELL collections
