Bopkick Returns to Play Jazz
Bopkick will give a concert of jazz standards on Tuesday, July 6 at 7:30 pm in the cool, air conditioned Druker Auditorium. The performance will feature composers such as Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Wayne Shorter and Benny Golson. Jazz is many things to many people, but to the members of Bopkick it is first and foremost improvised music that leads them somewhere new every time they play. The members of Bopkick are Barry Levine, saxophone, Gillian DeLear, drums, Richard Hale Shaw, bass and Scott Davidson, guitar.
Robin O'Herin Performs Country, Blues and Gospel
Take a step back in time, relax and enjoy Robin O'Herin's unique brand of blues and gospel as she takes you on a journey of musical exploration through the Delta and Piedmont regions of the South. She will perform on Thursday, July 29 at 7:30 pm. Song selections will include music by Robert Johnson, Blind Willie Johnson, and Charlie Patton, as well as Robin's own original blues and fingerstyle ballads.
2006 Memphis Blues Challenge Finalist Robin O'Herin plays traditional pre-war delta and country blues and gospel. She specializes in historically rich, interactive concerts that include original and traditional American music. Robin has shared the stage with Paul Geremia, Andy Cohen and Roy Bookbinder, and has performed in Europe and across the U.S. She is currently working on a new CD.
Books and Beyond on NewTV

Each month the program features interesting and informative interviews related to library events and happenings. The show is produced by Ellen Meyers, the library's Director of Programs and Communications.

If you have small children with you, please sit in the back rows. If you leave the auditorium between pieces, please close the door quietly behind you and wait to re-enter after a musical piece. Please don't save seats! When attending a Sunday afternoon concert, please do not save more than one seat as this deprives others of attending the concert. The rule is first come, first served.
