by Corina Simian

On exhibit October 2-29, 2026

Corina Simian is a Romanian-born photographer and postdoctoral researcher currently based in Boston, U.S. She holds a degree in Mathematics and in Biology and is engaged in research at Northeastern University and Whitehead Institute. Alongside her scientific career, Corina has been a photographer since 2010, specializing in botanical, landscape, and ecological storytelling.

Her work captures the rich biodiversity of native flora, fungi, and fauna across U.S. National and State Parks, with particular attention to seasonal transitions, native flowers, rare plant cultivars, and the often-overlooked beauty of small ecosystems, with exhibitions and awards spanning cultural institutions, fairs, and community venues. Her artistic practice is deeply rooted in the preservation of biodiversity and the creation of visual narratives that highlight the fragility of natural habitats. Through her work, Corina bridges the worlds of science and art, encouraging deeper public appreciation for ecological complexity and the urgent need to preserve it.

A Step into the Wilderness is a photographic exhibition celebrating the vivid landscapes and wildlife of Yellowstone, the Tetons, and other U.S. national treasures. This body of work invites viewers to step into spaces where nature remains both powerful and fragile, revealing moments of vast grandeur alongside quiet, intricate details.

Blending scientific awareness with artistic vision, the photographs highlight the richness of protected ecosystems and the life they sustain. Through this exhibition, Corina encourages a deeper appreciation of the natural world and a renewed sense of responsibility toward its preservation.
