If your child prefers to track their reading on a paper log instead of in the app they can! Come into the Children’s Room to pick up apaper log, or print one here:
Whether you choose to track online or on the paper log, remember that any type of reading counts! Read alouds, independent reading, audiobooks, graphic novels – any reading format your child enjoys counts for summer reading.
- Children ages 0-5 can come in to spin the prize wheel after every two hours of reading they complete.
- Children ages 6-9 can come in to spin the prize wheel after every ten hours of reading they complete.
There is no max – the more your child reads the more they can spin the wheel! Prizes are available while supplies last- so please bring your child into the library as they earn spins throughout the summer to avoid end of summer shortages.

Ages 10+ can also use our paper reading log to keep track of time spent reading. We will also have paper logs to track reading available for pick up at the Teen Desk. Remember, all reading counts– read a book, magazine, or e-book; listen to an audiobook; read aloud to a sibling; read aloud with your family.
For every fifteen hours you read you can spin the prize wheel at the Teen Desk! The more you read the more spins you get! Prizes are available while supplies last so please come into the library as you earn spins throughout the summer rather than waiting until the end.

Adults
Join the 2026 Summer Reading Bingo Challenge for Adults (18+)! Complete a bingo of 4 squares in any direction and win 1 raffle entry per bingo! Complete the whole sheet and you’ll receive 5 extra entries, for a maximum of 15 entries per person. These tickets can be used to enter our adult summer reading raffle. Prizes will be drawn at the end of the challenge and winners will be contacted.
Starting June 1, stop by any of the service desks to pick up a paper bingo sheet, or you can download the PDF version of it here. When you are finished, submit your bingo sheet at the 1st floor Ask Desk or via email at newtonpublicservices@minlib.net, and a staff member will tally up your entries.
